Terms & Conditions

 
Reservation Information

To secure a reservation, place your booking through the online booking system on our website, or through speaking to a member of staff via email or telephone. Upon booking a 25% non-refundable deposit is required. Payment can be made on card or by BACS.

The balance is due six weekend prior to commencement of your stay. Customers booking less than six weeks from commencement of their adventure will be asked to pay in full.

An itinerary will be agreed at the time of reservation however Tipi Adventure retain the right to amend this, without reference to the client, for operational reasons and force majeure of nature. Please see our Cancellation Terms regarding non-payment of balance and refunds.

 
Hire Conditions

The person (Organiser) booking with Tipi Adventure must ensure there is a "designated adult" within the group. The designated adult must be over 18 years of age and responsible for ensuring that each member in the group is aware and agrees to the terms of the hire agreement. The designated adult also accepts full responsibility for any loss or damage to equipment.

The organiser is responsible for the payment of all funds due and all guests within their group are to be made aware of Tipi Adventure's terms and conditions where applicable.

The organiser will be provided with a briefing on the workings of the tipi.

The organiser will ensure all tipi furnishings, sites, equipment and river/riverside locations are kept in the same state of repair and condition as found at the beginning of their adventure (reasonable wear & tear accepted). Should the group disobey the "house rules", a fine will be incurred. 

 
Tipis

The number of people occupying a tipi may not exceed 6. No additional tents or structures may be erected or installed on any site or land in the control of Tipi Adventure, without permission being granted. 

Tipis are ready for arrivals by 3pm, if you arrive before 3pm your tipi will not be ready.

You are expected to vacate your tipi by 11am.

Upon arriving at the tipi site, we advise that you check all equipment and items are present and in reasonable condition and inform our staff immediately if not. This will nullify queries or any problems should Tipi find items missing or damaged at your tipi site after your stay. Please inform Tipi of any loss/damage during your stay. Failure to do so may result in you being charged for such items.

Customers are advised that our tipi setting is located within close proximity of the river bank and must at all times assume full responsibility for members of their own group, particularly young children.

Fires within the tipi or outside must be lit in the designated area, be modest, controlled and monitored at all times. Fires within the tipi must be fuelled by the bags of extra kiln-dried firewood, provided by us. Any other type of wood will stain the tipi canvas and smoke the tipi out. If we find that guests have used the wrong type of wood, clients will be charged £200 per tipi.

Undue noise or nuisance on the river or site may result in early termination of a holiday without redress.

Tipi Adventure reserve the right to limit the amount of alcohol that is taken to a Tipi site. Drugs are not permitted. Tipi Adventure will terminate a holiday immediately and without redress to any guests should this term be broken.

The owners are under no liability for any act, neglect or default from any loss, damage, expense or accident, injury or inconvenience to persons or property which customers may suffer or sustain from the hire of any tipi(s), equipment in or around the tipis.

 
Cancellation Terms

Should you wish to cancel your booking (or amendment of date) at any point you must inform us as soon as possible. Cancellations/ date changes are treated in the following way:

Prior to start date:

                                           More than 3 weeks          25% of total rate

                                            Less than 3 weeks          50% of total rate

                                            Less than 2 weeks          No refunds are available 

Non-payment of the balance by 4 weeks (or any agreed date at less than 4 weeks) shall result in cancellation with the deposit being forfeit.

We strongly advise you have a holiday insurance policy in place ahead of your stay.

 
 Limit of Liabilities

Tipi Adventure cannot accept responsibility for personal injury or death. Customers for our Tipi Adventure should be aware of an accept these risks are be responsible for their own actions. However, nothing within these terms and conditions shall affect the statutory rights of any customer or restrict any liability for death or personal injury arising from negligence from Tipi Adventure.

Tipi Adventure holds public liability insurance, however, we recommend that all Tipi Adventure clients should take out their own personal accident insurance in the unlikely event of injury. 

Tipi Adventure staff are not responsible for client's personal belongings. Baggage may be left unattended in tipis and at our base, so clients are advised not to bring valuables and are advised (within these terms) that all items are handled, transferred and stored at your own risk. 

Tipi Adventure does not take responsibility for any customer vehicles whilst parked on our site.

 
Lost Property

Tipi Adventure will not accept responsibility for personal belongings that are left on our premises or in our vehicles. Such items will be retained for 1 month (perishable items will be disposed of as appropriate) and then Tipi Adventure will assume title of goods for disposal as appropriate. Should an item be claimed within 1 month, Tipi will return it to the owner with a cost applied to cover postage and packaging. Such costs are to be settled before release of the goods. 

 
General

We reserve the right to terminate an adventure in the event of unreasonable conduct which is likely to cause damage, danger or distress to our customers, employees, a third party or our equipment; under such circumstances no refund will be given. 

Dogs and other animals are only permitted to stay at our Tipi site with prior approval at the time of booking. A fee will be incurred. 

Customers booking via telephone, email or Airbnb will be deemed to have read our Terms & Conditions. 

 
River & Weather Conditions

Tipi Adventure is not significantly affected by normal weather patterns, so clients may not cancel/amend an adventure based on weather forecasts or inclemency before/during the adventure.

If the river is forecast to rise to a level that would infringe on to the Tipi site, Tipi Adventure will give clients as much notice as practically possible to arrange an alternative date on which they could attend a Tipi Adventure. This will be on an equivalent cost night on a like for like basis. Tipi Adventure's responsibility and financial liability shall be limited to the return of monies received in the event of either the tipi or activity booked in good faith of not being available or curtailed due to river levels or other causes beyond their control. 

All activities are run by an outside company, Wye Canoes Ltd., who daily check the river levels to ascertain that it is within the safety limits to permit guests to canoe/kayak. Once the river reaches a certain level, boats will be rafted together and/or any self-guided trips will become guided. If the river is deemed too unsafe to canoe/kayak, trips will be cancelled and refunds offered. The tipi reservation will still stand with clients offered the option of tipi only.
